In the April 22, 1996 Federal Register, FDA published a notice regarding the inapplicability of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (the DSHEA) to products intended for use in animals. The notice states that after examining the statutory language, intent, and legislative history, the Agency has determined that DSHEA does not apply to animal products.
