The following firms/individuals received warning letters for offering animals for slaughter that contained illegal drug residues:

  • Strauss Veal, Inc., Kidron, OH
  • Hillcrest Dairy, Oxford, NC
  • Daniels and Daniels Dairy, Louisburg, NC
  • KDD Miller Farm, Doylestown, OH
  • Dead Stock Disposal, Russellville, TN

These violations involved illegal residues of tetracycline, penicillin, and neomycin in calves; oxytetracycline and streptomycin in downer cows; tetracycline and oxytetracycline in a cow; tetracycline in a cow; penicillin and sulfamethoxazole in a bob veal calf;

The following firms received warning letters for deviations from the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations:

  • Endrich, Inc., Newton, NJ
  • Burkel Turkey Farms, Menagha, MN
  • Hastings Pork, Hastings, NE

A warning letter was sent to Producer's Livestock Association Auction, Creston, OH, for causing the diversion of an adulterated calf to slaughter.
